The Trina

Sharing the latest garment I've sewed: a kimono/wrap tunic from Victory Patterns (a local company...woot!). Although not my most straight-forward make, this is surely another unique item in my closet, so it's the latest fave:D

Skeleton in the closet

It's finally getting warm over here that I can wear this shirt. This top is also great to wear over bathing suits or work-out clothes.
old top from Hot Topic, Levis jeans, Vans sneakers
I like how the back crosses. (Excuse the wrinkles...I never iron my shirts:P)

I'd also like to share another Catholic ceremony we had this week. My eldest son had his Confirmation. Gosh...it's been a busy month in terms of religious celebrations!

My mom was his sponsor.

What have I been watching

I just thought I'd share some of the stuff I've seen or currently watching that I highly am recommending. They're not new films/series, so you can easily watch them now:)

1) Your Name
Your Name is a Japanese anime movie released in 2016, and is the highest grossing anime film world-wide to date. All I can say is that it deserved all the accolades it got.

If you haven't seen this film yet, go and see it now! Go! One of the best I've seen. It's time-travel/comedy/romance all rolled into one awesome cinematic experience.

2) Goblin
I've been really fan-girling over Gong Yoo since watching him in Train To Busan last year, so I was really excited for his newest Korean drama Goblin. It showed from December 2016 to January 2017 but I wasn't able to watch it till now. Ehrmahgerd! I just started it, and I'm obsessed already!

I am really loving Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Work (as the Grim Reaper), and the scenes are just beautifully shot.

(Some scenes were shot in Canada as well...not Toronto though, but still....)

3) Doctor Strange
I've seen this too many times already. Benedict Cumberbatch....that's all Imma gonna say....

4) Get Out
Just one of the best horror/mystery I've seen in a long time. A unique story line and great acting by the cast as well. Jordan Peele (writer/director) is da man!

5) Arrival
A great take on the alien/science-fiction genre. I'm not the biggest Amy Adams fan but she was really good in this movie. I may have shed a tear or two....just saying....

And last, but not the least....
6) John Hill's YouTube channel
I've been really watching a lot of vlogs lately, and John Hill's channel has been a fave as of late. Even if you're not into skateboarding, his channel is just a lot of fun and I find him very inspiring.

What have you watched/been watching lately that you recommend to others?

Stain magnet

I don't own a lot of white clothes. First of all, I am the clumsiest person in the world that it's usually full of coffee drips within 5 minutes of me wearing it. Second, I read somewhere it's not a lucky colour for my sign (along with green). I know some of you might think that's silly, but hey....whatever will help me have better fortune, I always say:)

This top, however, I do like.

Like a princess

My youngest just had her First Communion (a Catholic ceremony where the child receives the Eucharist for the first time). Seriously....these little people grow like weeds! (Here are the posts for my eldest son's and my middle child's First Communion if you're interested.)

It was like her wedding day, you guys! Did her hair and (very light)makeup, and of course, ran late as is customary in events like this...hehe....

I just thought I'd share a few of the pics taken:)

I knitted her veil. It took a few months as I did it in between sewing projects (I started it on January and finished it on April), but was worth every second. (Pattern is from Elizabeth Lovick's Magical Shetland Lace Shawls to Knit.) Her dress was a gift from my mom.

Obsession #41

The latest things I've been "eyeing" (aka lemming):D

1) Etta Dress sewing pattern from Tilly and the Buttons
So want to make this dress with this exact fabric. How perfect for summer, right?

 2) Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Primer
Ever since this was mentioned on GOOP, I've been dying to try it.

Have fallen back in love with Gucci Rush after a long hiatus, but this is one scent I smelled a long time ago, and now I wish I bought it then. Much more expensive now!

4) Independent hoodies
These are actually men's, but meh...I still want them.
